ভোটকেন্দ্রে মোবাইল নিষেধাজ্ঞা প্রত্যাহার | ইসি
ত্রয়োদশ জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচন ও গণভোটকে সামনে রেখে ভোটারদের জন্য বড় স্বস্তির সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে নির্বাচন কমিশন (ইসি)। ভোটকেন্দ্রের ৪০০ গজের মধ্যে মোবাইল ফোন ব্যবহারের ওপর যে নিষেধাজ্ঞা আরোপ করা হয়েছিল, তা প্রত্যাহার করার ঘোষণা দিয়েছে কমিশন।
সোমবার (৯ ফেব্রুয়ারি) সন্ধ্যায় নির্বাচন কমিশন সচিবালয়ের সচিব আখতার আহমেদ আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে এ তথ্য নিশ্চিত করেন। তিনি জানান, ভোটারদের স্বাভাবিক চলাচল ও তথ্যপ্রবাহের বিষয়টি বিবেচনায় নিয়ে কমিশন এই সিদ্ধান্তে পৌঁছেছে।
এর আগে নির্বাচন উপলক্ষ্যে আইনশৃঙ্খলা রক্ষার অজুহাতে ভোটকেন্দ্র সংলগ্ন এলাকায় মোবাইল ফোন ব্যবহার সীমিত করার সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হয়েছিল। তবে বিভিন্ন মহল থেকে এ বিষয়ে সমালোচনা ও উদ্বেগ প্রকাশ করা হলে নতুন করে পর্যালোচনা করে নিষেধাজ্ঞা প্রত্যাহারের সিদ্ধান্ত নেয় ইসি।
বিশ্লেষকদের মতে, এই সিদ্ধান্ত ভোটারদের মধ্যে ইতিবাচক প্রভাব ফেলবে এবং নির্বাচন প্রক্রিয়ায় স্বচ্ছতা ও আস্থার পরিবেশ তৈরি করবে।
EC Removes Mobile Ban Near Polling Stations
The Election Commission (EC) of Bangladesh has decided to withdraw the restriction on mobile phone usage within 400 yards of polling stations ahead of the 13th National Parliamentary Election and referendum.
The decision was officially confirmed on Monday evening (February 9) by Election Commission Secretariat Secretary Akhtar Ahmed. According to him, the move was taken considering voters’ convenience and the need for smooth communication during election day.
Earlier, the EC had imposed restrictions on mobile phone usage near polling centers as part of security measures. However, following criticism and public concern, the commission reviewed the policy and decided to lift the ban.
Election analysts believe the decision will boost voter confidence and contribute to a more transparent and participatory electoral process.
