Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!সংবিধান সংস্কার বিষয়ে জুলাই জাতীয় সনদ বাস্তবায়ন আদেশ অনুযায়ী অনুষ্ঠিত গণভোটে ৬৮ শতাংশ ভোটার ‘হ্যাঁ’-এর পক্ষে রায় দিয়েছেন। এ ফলাফলের মাধ্যমে দলগুলোর প্রাপ্ত ভোটের ভিত্তিতে জাতীয় সংসদে ১০০ সদস্য বিশিষ্ট একটি উচ্চকক্ষ গঠনের পথ উন্মুক্ত হয়েছে বলে সংশ্লিষ্ট সূত্রে জানা গেছে।
বাস্তবায়ন আদেশের ৮ অনুচ্ছেদ অনুযায়ী মঙ্গলবার একই স্থানে দুটি পৃথক শপথের আয়োজন করা হয়। এর একটি ছিল সংসদ সদস্য (এমপি) হিসেবে এবং অন্যটি সংবিধান সংস্কার পরিষদের সদস্য হিসেবে। তবে সংবিধানে সংস্কার পরিষদের শপথ অন্তর্ভুক্ত না থাকায় বাংলাদেশ জাতীয়তাবাদী দল (BNP) জোট ও স্বতন্ত্র হিসেবে বিজয়ীরা দ্বিতীয় শপথ পাঠ করেননি। তারা কেবল এমপি হিসেবে শপথ গ্রহণ করেন।
অন্যদিকে বাংলাদেশ জামায়াতে ইসলামী এবং তাদের মিত্র ন্যাশনাল সিটিজেনস পার্টি (NCP)-সহ অন্যান্য দল থেকে বিজয়ীরা দুটি শপথই সম্পন্ন করেছেন।
A national referendum held under the July National Charter Implementation Order on constitutional reform recorded a decisive outcome, with 68% of voters backing the ‘Yes’ option. The result effectively creates an obligation to establish a 100-member upper chamber in parliament based on party vote shares, according to relevant sources.
As stipulated in Article 8 of the implementation order, two separate oath ceremonies were scheduled on Tuesday at the same venue — one as Members of Parliament (MPs) and another as members of the Constitutional Reform Council. However, winners aligned with the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) alliance and independent candidates declined to take the Reform Council oath, citing its absence from the constitution. They proceeded only with the MP oath.
In contrast, winners from Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, along with its ally the National Citizens Party (NCP) and other parties, completed both oaths.
