Veteran Bangladeshi Actor Baidyanath Saha Passes Away

Renowned veteran actor Baidyanath Saha has passed away. He breathed his last around 6 PM on Tuesday (March 3, 2026) at a hospital in Jessore while undergoing treatment.

The news was confirmed by Rashed Mamun Apu, General Secretary of Bangladesh Actors’ Equity. He stated that Baidyanath Saha had been suffering from various age-related ailments for a long time. He was receiving treatment at a hospital in Jessore and was on life support due to his critical condition before passing away in the evening.

Baidyanath Saha began his acting career in theater in Jessore and entered the screen world through Bangladesh Television in the 1980s. He became a familiar face on the small screen and appeared in popular productions like Lal Nil Beguni and various films, earning admiration for his natural acting style and humble personality.

His demise has cast a shadow of grief across the Bangladeshi drama and film industry, with many colleagues and celebrities expressing condolences on social media.
