ঢাকার পূর্বাঞ্চলের গুরুত্বপূর্ণ সড়ক প্রগতি সরণি ঘেঁষে অবস্থিত আন্তর্জাতিক বৌদ্ধ বিহার কেবল একটি ধর্মীয় প্রতিষ্ঠানই নয়, বরং এটি শান্তি ও সম্প্রীতির এক প্রতীক। সম্প্রতি বিহারটি পরিদর্শনকালে এর ভাইস প্রিন্সিপাল বুদ্ধানন্দ মহাথেরো দেশ ও জাতির শান্তি কামনায় বিশেষ প্রার্থনা করেন।
প্রার্থনায় তিনি বলেন, বর্তমান সময়ে সমাজে শান্তি, সহনশীলতা ও মানবিক মূল্যবোধ আরও বেশি প্রয়োজন। ধর্ম, বর্ণ ও বিশ্বাস নির্বিশেষে সকল মানুষের মধ্যে সম্প্রীতি বজায় থাকলেই একটি শক্তিশালী ও শান্তিপূর্ণ জাতি গড়ে ওঠে।
বৌদ্ধ বিহার কর্তৃপক্ষ জানান, নিয়মিতভাবে এখানে শান্তি, মঙ্গল ও মানবকল্যাণ কামনায় প্রার্থনার আয়োজন করা হয়। রাজধানীর ব্যস্ত নগরজীবনের মাঝেও এই বিহার মানুষের জন্য মানসিক প্রশান্তির এক অনন্য আশ্রয়স্থল হয়ে উঠেছে।
স্থানীয় দর্শনার্থীদের মতে, আন্তর্জাতিক বৌদ্ধ বিহার শুধু ধর্মীয় উপাসনালয় নয়, বরং এটি ঢাকার সাংস্কৃতিক ও আধ্যাত্মিক ঐতিহ্যের একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অংশ।
Located along Pragati Sarani, the lifeline of eastern Dhaka, the International Buddhist Monastery stands as a symbol of peace and harmony amid the bustling city. During a recent visit, the monastery’s Vice-Principal, Buddhananda Mahathero, offered prayers for national peace and unity.
In his prayer, Buddhananda Mahathero emphasized the importance of tolerance, compassion, and human values in today’s society. He noted that peace and harmony among people of all religions and backgrounds are essential for building a stable and prosperous nation.
The monastery authorities said that prayers for peace, well-being, and humanity are regularly held at the institution. Despite Dhaka’s fast-paced urban life, the monastery continues to provide a calm and spiritual retreat for visitors.
Local visitors described the International Buddhist Monastery not only as a place of worship but also as a significant part of Dhaka’s cultural and spiritual heritage.
